Essential medical information for use in emergencies and day-to-day situations

The MediRead app is primarily meant to be used in conjunction with MediRead medical bracelets, allowing essential medical information to be stored on your bracelet for easy access by medical staff and first-responders in emergency situations. Simply tapping the bracelet and holding for a couple of seconds will display the information on screen. The data is held on the bracelet itself and not online or with any third-party.The details held include a full list of your medications with medicine name, dosage and frequency, a list of any allergies you might have along with symptoms, additional information such as any significant and non-obvious medical conditions you might have, physician contact details and emergency contact numbers. Personal identifying details are limited to your name and year of birth.MediRead can also be of immense use in day-to-day situations. It provides a readily accessible record of your medications for use, for example, during a visit to the doctor or when travelling. MediRead provides other useful features, principal amongst which is the option to have notifications, with or without an audible alarm, of when medications need to be taken and which ones. You can tick these off as you take them, upon which the last time you took any medication is stored for any review by doctors or carers. You can also email the full set of information to a doctor, family member or carer, thus saving time and reducing the possibility of errors.By downloading the app, you also agree to the licence agreement / terms and conditions / EULA at http://www.mediread.com/EULAThis release incorporates further error handling if the phone is moved away too quickly from the bracelet when writing

The app itself is very good and a big jump from the old school inscribed jewellery. However the scanning itself is a bit hit and miss and the reason I sent my teardrop bracelet back was because the logo began to fade quickly only a couple of weeks after I purchased it.

Installed this app as I suffer from Parkinson's. Lately though I keep getting 'MediRead has stopped' message pop up and it's starting to get irritating. Would otherwise give 5 stars
